I’m a climatologist (if you insist on a label), but with eclectic interests from electronic through geography, meteorology, many others and even including ethics. But my core “discipline” is regional climate (change). I’m a resident of UCT since 1992, and seeing no reason to move yet! Currently my life revolves around managing the CSAG research group, engagement in international activities (such as IPCC and WCRP), and research. The research interests include climate modelling, climate change, downscaling, and interesting analysis methodologies. Beyond these are extended interests in appropriate technology, scientific capacity building, and the science-society interface. I’m a bit of a techno-addict balanced by other non-academic activities including just about anything to do with water or music.
