Researchers discuss finding local solutions to climate change

In June, FRACTAL researchers Gina Ziervogel (ACDI) and Alice McClure (CSAG) published an article in The Conversation. In it they considered the role of knowledge co-production, which has been central to FRACTAL’s approach.

FRACTAL’s process of co-production draws on many different types of knowledge in order to create a more complete understanding of southern Africa’s contemporary urban and climate change related issues. How African cities’ residents are creating climate change solutions delves into the ways in which urban populations, who live in increasingly complex spaces, “Have the potential to produce solutions to climate change problems because they contain dense networks, technologies and groups of people with diverse perspectives.”
